January 26, 2013 - The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry hosted 24 of the area’s best artists at its third annual Fr3shArt Portrait Battle on Friday and Saturday. The artists brought their A-game at Friday’s opening reception as they sketch, drew and paint this year’s models, The Hat Ladies of Charleston. The competition continued Saturday in the art room, bolstered by treats from Diggity Doughnuts. Ava Rocco, Hirona Matsuda, Sarah Haynes, Chris Dotson, Scott Penegar, Sarah Kalani, Kate Macneil, James Wine, Dana Thieringer, Madison Smith, Teil Duncan, David Brown, Felecia Gunter, Jeanette Kaczenas, Sam Ogden, Sophie Treppendahl, Christina Rodino, Meta Sapient, Proton Factories, Taillefer Long, Greg Hart, Austin Smith, Reynier Llanes and Spike Kittrell were the artists battling it out for the championship.
