Friday, March 22th, 2013 2 of 64
With their 125th anniversary fast approaching on May 29, Belk is celebrating in a big way. With an exclusive in Thursday’s Post and Courier announcing a $10.2 million project to transform the Mount Pleasant Town Centre location into a flagship store, they topped the day off as the sole retail runway show on Day 2 of Baker Motor Company Charleston Fashion Week. The Emerging Designer Competition: East on Day 3 featured women’s wear offerings from Megan Huntz, Karen Hulse, Monisha Pillai and Kita Nolley, while Afriyie Poku showed the sole menswear collection in the contest. The Featured Designer of the night was the Libertine line, co-founded in 2001 by Johnson Hartig, who was on-hand as a special guest.
