Folly Beach's longest-running and largest annual event, the Sea and Sand Festival, kicked off beach season this weekend with its 23rd iteration. The festival featured live music on two stages, more than 100 food and art vendors, children’s activities, a silent auction, 5k run/walk, a surf contest and more. The family- and pet-friendly event kicked off Saturday with a full day of events, including live music from James Justin & Co., Fuller Condon & The V-Tones, Shakin' Martinis, Sweet T N' A, Folly Beach Reggae Allstars and the Folly Bluegrass Society, as well as kids games and activities, a 5K Fun Run/Walk and silent auction. The fun continued Sunday the Tides Classic Surfing Competition, Coffin Island Sand Sculpting Contest and the official after-party on the beach featuring the East Coast Party Band. The two-day festival served as a fundraiser benefiting the Folly Beach Parks and Recreation renourishment program.
