June 29, 2013 Charleston resident and Season 11 “American Idol” finalist Elise Testone took the stage at Friday’s Party at the Point at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina. Dubbed Charleston’s “premier happy hour concert series,” the event featured a full cash bar and drink specials. Originally planned as the finale (a rescheduled event on July 5 will feature Stop Light Observations with Fowler’s Mustache), Vanity Salon Style Bus, a mobile beauty salon, was set up offering hair styling, make-up, body art and more. The last year has been a whirlwind for Testone, who enjoyed a homecoming featuring a sold-out show at the Charleston Music Hall on Valentine’s night, an opening slot for B.B. King at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in April, and joining Hootie & the Blowfish at their annual “Monday After the Masters” fundraiser at the House in Blues in Myrtle Beach, also in April. When not performing, she has been working on her debut album, which is set for release in the fall.
