August 19, 2013 - With Aug. 17 being National Thrift Shop Day, there was no better day than Sunday to attend the Clothing Swap at Tin Roof. Hosted by Re-Trend, a “nomadic clothing swap run by a couple of local fashionistas,” the aim of the event was to have attendees change out their wardrobe at a price that couldn’t be beat, and it’s safe to say they succeeded. Guys and gals dug through their closets for clean, gently used women’s and men’s clothing and accessories to change out for items brought by someone else. Also at the event was the Charleston Animal Society, which was collecting household cleaners, towels, blankets and office supplies. In addition, the Lucky Puppy Truck was on-site with homemade treats, homemade puppy “ice cream,” grooming supplies and toys for sale, with a portion of purchases going to CAS.
