August 24, 2013 Hootie & the Blowfish, the band that rose to fame with their debut album, “Cracked Rear View,” after getting their start as students at the University of South Carolina, returned to Daniel Island for their 11th annual Homegrown Weekend, a two-day event that all about fun and philanthropy, with the underprivileged children of the Charleston County School District benefiting. The most reputable project for the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation, Friday’s evening concert at the Family Circle Magazine Stadium featured Everclear, brought to mainstream success in 1995 with their single "Santa Monica." Hootie & the Blowfish then took the stage to perform for the packed house, performing favorites such as “Hold My Hand”, “Let Her Cry” and “Only Wanna Be with You.”
