October 07, 2013 The website stated, “This is no time for sensible shoes.” And attendees took that to heart when they attended Charleston’s inaugural Wine, Women & Shoes event on Sunday at The Daniel Island Club. A national fundraising event, the local shoe and wine party benefitted the Florence Crittenton Programs of South Carolina, which aims to provide young, at-risk pregnant and parenting women services to help them become self-sufficient and responsible mothers. While raising money for the cause, attendees kicked up their heels as they sipped on samples from some of the country’s top winemakers, shopped the latest trends in the multi-vendor marketplace, watched a live runway show featuring local celebrities, and partook in an auction and raffle.
