October 18, 2013 The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center hosted its 10th annual Bus Shed Bash, an oyster roast and barbecue fundraiser held Thursday at the Charleston Visitor Center Bus Shed. With proceeds going to the nonprofit, which serves victims of child abuse and neglect in Charleston and Berkeley counties, the aim of the event is to raise awareness among the community about the issue of abuse and the healing resources available at the center. With oysters, barbecue and hotdogs were served and washed down by beer and wine while attendees enjoyed live music by Derek & The Derelicts and bid on items in the silent auction. After the Bash, folks headed over to Midtown Bar & Grill for the official after-party.
