October 22, 2013 NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin and Mark Bryan of Hootie & the Blowfish again teamed up to combine the worlds of racing and music for the second annual Denny & Mark’s Pro-Am Jam. The private two-day event kicked off Monday with a concert on the back lawn at the Daniel Island Club. The concert featured Bryan and some of his musician friends, including Andrew Copeland of Sister Hazel, Mike Mills of R.E.M., Ed Roland of Collective Soul, Dan Tyminski of Union Station and Darius Rucker, among others. In addition to the show, there was a red carpet, silent auction and more. The second day of the event featured a round of golf at the Ralston Creek Course played by notable names from the worlds of music, sports, NASCAR, golf, and TV and film. Players included Danica Patrick, Joe Gibbs, Ed Marinaro, Kasey Kahne, Darrell and Michael Waltrip, and more. Last year’s inaugural event raised $135,000 for Hamlin and Bryan’s respective charities, and they hoped to raise more this year.
