November 16, 2013 A fully sanctioned national event with the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the second annual Smoke on the Harbor BBQ Throwdown kicked things off Friday at the Lookout Pavilion at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina. With competitors competing in categories including chicken wings, chicken, pork ribs, pork and beef brisket, the chicken wing contest and sampling was held Friday night. Complete with a cocktail competition, cooking demonstrations, live music and a kids zone, the family-friendly fun continued on Saturday with the remaining entries turned in and sampled on the second and final day of the competition.
