November 23, 2013 Serving as the Charleston Animal Society’s largest fundraiser, Saturday’s 14th annual Celebrity Chili Cook-off and Oyster Roast at Joe Riley Stadium was all about raising money for Toby’s Fund, a medical fund for treating injured and ill animals. With more than 50 teams competing in the chili cook-off, “endless oysters,” local beers as well as nonalcoholic beverages, attendees certainly got their fill. Between rounds of oysters or chili taste-testes, folks enjoyed live music by Best Laid Plan, a Kids Zone, a TV Football Zone and a Game Zone. As always, the animals CAS had on-site available for adoption were a big hit with the crowd, as were the models from the 2014 Charleston Animal Society Firefighter Calendar.
