January 17, 2014 For those familiar with Charleston’s culinary seasons, we’re currently in the midst of oyster season. And the folks behind Taste of the Market took advantage and started 2014 off with an oyster-themed event. Held the third Thursday of every month, the newer event is a joint effort between City Market Hospitality Association and Charleston Culinary Tours. For January’s Taste of the Market, the restaurants and stores on Market Street used oysters as their inspiration when creating their samples for the event. Participating restaurants included Lowcountry Bistro, Noisy Oyster, Mad River, AW Shucks, Wild Wing Cafe, Tabbuli, Charleston Crab House, Sweet CeCe’s Frozen Yogurt and Treats, Henry’s, Burwell’s Stone Fire Grill, Tommy Condon’s, The Peanut Shop, Leaf and Molly Darcy’s. In addition to the food samples, Taste of the Market featured live music, gift card raffles and beer sales.
