January 17, 2014 In the spirit of community, The Sustainability Institute and the Johns Island Homegrown Farmers Market kicked off the new year with an oyster roast on Thursday. Open to all ages, Oyster Fest featured all-you-could-eat oysters, a hot dog cart, chili, libations and local bluegrass music. In addition, there was marshmallow roasting, a hot toddie bar and more at the event held at Island Oak Shopping Center on Johns Island. All proceeds benefitted The Sustainability Institute and the Johns Island Farmers Market.
