January 25, 2014 A section of Folly Beach’s Center Street was shut down to vehicular traffic on Saturday to allow local restaurants and bars to take over for the annual Taste of Folly. With more than 20 restaurants and bar participating, the family-friendly event offered something for everyone, including a chili cook-off, a hot dog-eating contest, the Bartenders Mix-Off Winner’s Circle and the Server Olympics. In addition to all the food and drink fun, attendees enjoyed live music by One Kool Blow and the Jordan Igoe Band, bid in the silent auction and date auction, and took advantage of kid-centric entertainment including bounce castles. The Taste of Folly benefitted Folly Beach Parks and Recreation.
