February 08, 2014 For those who long for the iconic Studio 54 days in New York, attendees of Friday night’s “Studio 58: Your Ticket to the Arts Beyond the Velvet Rope” party had the chance to show off their disco skills at an unlikely venue: the Gibbes Museum of Art. Hosted by the museum and its young professionals group, Society 1858, the party served as a celebration for the launch of the 1858 Prize for Contemporary Southern Art. With ’70s disco attire encouraged, folks partied the night away to music by DJ Jeff as they sipped on cocktails and nibbled on food from local companies.
