March 02, 2014 Listed in the hot-off-the-presses book “The Runner’s Bucket List: 200 Races To Run Before You Die” by Denise Malan, the fourth annual Mullet Haul trail race on Saturday was another example of Charleston’s ability to perfectly mix fun and fitness. Held on the horse paths at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center on Johns Island, runners in the 10-mile and a 5-mile races were encouraged to don mullet hairstyles – real or fake. And while it wasn’t a requirement, participants didn’t disappoint, some going all out to compete for the best mullet and themed costumes prizes, which were awarded along with the top runners. A post-race celebration included food by La Ti Da Catering, beer by Palmetto Brewing and live music by The Dunder Chiefs.
