March 07, 2014 The four-day BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival kicked thing off Thursday night with the Salute to Charleston’s Chefs: Opening Night Party. Presented by the Art Institute of Charleston, the “epic party” was all about paying tribute to Charleston’s growing community of chefs. The event, which this year returned to its roots in the Culinary Village inside the Art Institute of Charleston Main Event Tent, featured an impressive line-up of chefs, including Craig Deihl of Cypress, Frank Lee and Russ Moore of Slightly North of Broad, Fred Neuville of Fat Hen, Jeremiah Bacon of The Macintosh, Mike Lata of FIG and Sean Brock of McCrady's, just to name a few. The night also included desserts from some of the area’s top pastry chefs, wines from all over the world, the Official Festival Signature Cocktail featuring Reyka Vodka and more.
