June 15, 2014 Is there anything more American than a burger and a beer? The folks behind the Flag Day Burger and Beer Festival couldn’t agree more, and that’s how they celebrated the holiday that commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened June 14, 1777. In addition to marking Flag Day, the event also served as a fundraiser for the Charleston Animal Society and Pet Helpers. The festival saw “the best local burgers and local beers brewed in the state” all in one place. With a number of restaurants on board, attendees of the family- and pet-friendly event also enjoyed live music.
