July 13, 2014 The island feel invaded James Island County Park on Friday as the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission continued its Reggae Nights concert series. Folks danced the night away as they enjoyed music from Da’ Gullah Rootz, a Charleston-based band that has more than a 10-year history of creating melodies that blend a variety of reggae styles, including Ska and Dancehall, with a unique Gullah and Geechee style. Vendors offered up Caribbean-style dishes, pizza and other festival food for attendees to nosh on, while crafters and other vendors displayed local handmade crafts and souvenirs.
