NBA teams in a match-up at North Charleston Coliseum
What: Preseason NBA is coming to North Charleston. This match-up will see Hornets center Anthony Davis, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, and Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, the No. 2 overall pick, face off.
When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday

Charleston Green Fair
What: In honor of its fifth anniversary, the Green Fair will this year expand to a two-day celebration. The fun starts Saturday with a theme of “green is good ... and healthy.” Adding to the popular Charleston Farmers Market, the event will add cooking demos featuring local ingredients, wellness workshops, local exhibitors, interactive yoga, Zumba and a variety of fitness classes. A special concert with headliners The Pimps of Joytime, Ben Fagan & The Holy City Hooligans, and Penny Candy will be held Saturday night, with gates opening at 5 p.m. Food trucks will be on-site, and beverages from New Belgium, Bota Box Wine and Firefly Vodka will be available for purchase. Sunday sees the traditional green celebration featuring the Eco-Carnival, the Green Style Market, Solar Sunday NFL Ticket, two music stages, local food vendors, Beer School from New Belgium and much more!
When: 10 a.m. Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday
Where: Marion Square
Price: Free on Saturday; $5 for adults, $1 for kids on Sunday. For the special concert, tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.

Wine, Brew and Wishes Too!
What: This is a party for a purpose, as all proceeds will be used to grant wishes to children in the Lowcountry with life-threatening medical conditions. Enjoy an evening of tastings of more than 100 fine wines from around the world and craft beer from six local and regional breweries, Lowcountry cuisine, a silent auction and live music by Yee Haw Junction.
When: 6-9 p.m. Saturday

The Ultimate Doo-Wop Show
What: What started off as PBS-TV specials has grown into a touring showcase featuring veteran doo-wop artists whose combined sales numbers total more than 200 million records. If you’re looking for a night of feel-good tunes that would be at home at a sock hop, then you won’t want to miss this show. With an impressive list of artists and songs (some even the younger generations will know: “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” anyone?), performers include Jay Siegel’s Tokens with special guest Jay Traynor, Jimmy Beaumont & The Skyliners, Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs, The Marcels, The Cookies, The Jarmels and The Blue Suede Orchestra.

Second Sunday on King Street
What: Stroll, shop, dine and enjoy Charleston at its finest at the monthly Second Sunday on King Street. The street will be closed off to cars so that pedestrians may window shop, dine at any number of restaurants, enjoy live music, pick up some info at the booths and more. Musicians from the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Laura Ball & Friends Unedited Concert Series will perform, along with Second Sunday regulars The Honeybees and Oliver Penegar and Carlo Garcia from the Charleston County School of the Arts. And don’t forget to stop by Le Creuset (241 King St.), Affordables (305 King St.) and Worthwhile (268 King St.) for special events.

Masquerade Under the Oaks
What: Enjoy an evening under the oaks and support Charleston Pride. This fundraiser for the 2013 Charleston Pride Festival will feature food and drink specials, beer samples, Jell-O shots, raffles, a silent auction, live entertainment and more. And don’t forget your favorite mask, as the winner will win a prize.

Rockers4Knockers Crawl/Rock the Dock
What: This second annual event is all about bringing awareness to breast cancer. Open to all ages, this event includes a pub crawl along the creek and concerts throughout the day. Bar stops, which require an ID, will include Red’s Ice House, Vickery’s, Water’s Edge, Shem Creek Bar & Grill, The Shelter and RB’s. Susan G. Komen for the Cure will be the main beneficiary of the event, but Integrative Cancer Care also will receive some of the proceeds.
When: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday
Where: Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant; registration will be held at Red’s Ice House and Vickery’s
Price: $20 in advance, $25 the day of (admission includes drink specials and a T-shirt)
