Thursday Haunted Pub Crawl
What: Bulldog Tours is offering a Haunted Pub Crawl. Learn about Charleston’s ghostly past while enjoying libations at some of the city’s bars and taverns.

‘Nevermore’
What: From the master of the macabre comes the haunting tale of Edgar Allan Poe’s own mysterious death and disappearance. “Nevermore” takes you to 1827 Sullivan’s Island, where young Poe served in the Army at Fort Moultrie and penned such classics as “The Gold Bug.”
When: 7:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Wednesday and Nov. 1-3; 3-5 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 4

Old City Jail Ghost Hunt
What: Join a group for a paranormal investigation of the Old City Jail. Measure cold spots with an infrared thermometer, take detailed photos and use special audio equipment to pick up hidden sounds. Use a ghost meter to pick up paranormal energies. For ages 13 and up; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Putt Putt Pumpkin
What: The course at Blackbeard’s Cove is all decked out for Halloween. Decorated by local businesses, this family-friendly event is all about fun.

Candlelight Ghost Tour
What: Ghosts of the South will guide you on a tour through the most haunted house and the most haunted hotel.

Friday Pumpkin Patch & Maze
What: Pick out a pumpkin (everything from pie to carving pumpkins will be available), take a hayride, build your own scarecrow, mine for gems, ride a horse, visit and feed the barnyard animals and take a trip through the Myrtle Maze, carved into 10 acres of wax myrtles.
When: 5-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday

Trick or Treat in the Park
What: Hosted by the Charleston Department of Recreation, youths 12 and under are invited with their parents for a night of trunk-or-treating, climbing walls, ghost stories, hay rides and magic shows.

‘Dead of the Night’

Saturday SUPer Scary SUP Race
What: Presented by Charleston SUP Safaris, this event will feature categories for experienced and novice stand-up paddleboarders, kids and dogs. The Pet Costume Contest will be held after the race. Proceeds from the event will go to Pet Helpers and the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation.

Pet Costume Contest
What: Enter your pet or just catch the show as fur babies compete in the categories best superhero, best homemade/most original, best duo (can be pet-pet or pet-owner), most fabulous/cutest and best monster/scariest. Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners up in each category, with one grand-prize winner. All proceeds will go to Pet Helpers.

Charleston Ghost Walk
What: Get into the Halloween spirit with spooky tales and creepy legends appropriate for all ages in North Charleston. Check out up to eight storytelling stations featuring lively presentations of local folklore and traditional ghost stories by the members of the Backporch Storytellers of Charleston. Participants are encouraged to come in costume. All proceeds will go toward the city’s Christmas Charity benefiting needy families. Homemade treats and hot chocolate will be available for purchase.

Where: Olde Village section of East Montague Avenue in North Charleston; the event starts at The Meeting Place, 1077 E. Montague Ave.

Family Fright Night
What: This fourth annual event will feature an evening of games, prizes, a costume contest, haunted train rides, critter corner, magician and more.

Pirate & Ghost Tour
What: With more than 300 years of history including the Colonial period, the Revolution and the Civil War, Charleston has a vast collection of true pirate stories, ghost tales based on historic events, and fascinating legends of Gullah lore. Dressed in period apparel, master storyteller Eric Lavender regales you with tales of Blackbeard, Stede Bonnet and Anne Bonny, along with some of the ghost stories that have made Charleston known as one of the country’s most haunted cities. Children under 18 must be accompanied by adult.

Monday Nevermore Masquerade
What: Join Goodwill Industries and Charleston Stage for an evening of haunting entertainment, culinary delights and cocktails. The night starts out with a showing of “Nevermore,” a tale of the life of Edgar Allan Poe, along with heavy hors d’oeuvres, a specialty drink, Goodwill trunk show and silent auction. Costumes are optional; a prize will be awarded for the best dressed Edgar Allan Poe. Proceeds from this event will benefit South Carolina Special Olympics and Goodwill’s Operation Independence Program.

Halloween Dance Party

Tuesday Halloween in Old Village
What: Put on by the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, kids ages 2-5 are invited with their parents to don costumes for some early trick-or-treating. Various themed games and crafts will be held in the building, while a jump castle and pony rides will be outdoors. Participants also can have their faces painted, watch a magic show and come aboard a firetruck to visit members of the Mount Pleasant Fire Department.

Wednesday Masquerade Stroll
What: Middleton Place’s weekly wine stroll gets a Halloween twist this week as attendees are asked to don a masquerade mask as they enjoy wine and live music.

Nightmare on Harbor 2
What: Hosted at the S.C. Aquarium, this second annual event will surround attendees with thousands of marine species and haunted decor. Enjoy live entertainment from the Mad Violinist and Symphony Crack Orchestra, a re-enactment of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” jet propulsion exhibition over the harbor, Halloween-themed fashion show and chance to win $500 cash for best costume. This event is for ages 21 and over. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Tanzania Education Foundation.
