Denny Hamlin and Mark Bryan (of Hootie & the Blowfish) are combining the worlds of racing and music to team up for the inaugural Denny & Mark’s Pro-Am Jam, hosted by the Student Transportation of America Education Foundation. The event kicks off today with a concert at the Family Circle Tennis Center followed by a day of golf fun with the Celebrity Pro-Am on Tuesday. While the golf event is closed to the public, the concert is open to anyone and will include performances by Bryan and fellow members from Hootie & the Blowfish along with Steve Azar, Johnny Lee, Collective Soul’s Ed Roland, R.E.M.’s Mike Mills and Dan Tyminski. All proceeds from the event will go to the charitable organizations represented by Hamlin and Bryan, as well as STAEF.

This 14th annual fine art event brings together more than 20 nationally renowned artists whose works are showcased exclusively at Charleston Fine Arts Dealers’ Association galleries. Events include an art stroll and receptions ahead of Society 1858’s Rock, Scissors, Art on Paper party on Friday; art demonstrations, the Art on Paper fair and the Buy Art! silent auction and reception on Saturday; and the Art on Paper fair again on Sunday.

Put on by Pet Helpers, this eighth-annual fundraiser is the biggest for the organization and raises money for its pet rescuing efforts. The theme for this year is “Gatsby Glamour and Flapper Fabulous,” so break out your roaring ’20s wear. Join the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission for the 11th annual Harvest Festival, which centers on the tradition of giving thanks for the season’s bountiful harvest. This family-friendly event will feature a full day of feasting, music, games and fun. Enjoy live bluegrass music from five local bands and keep the kids entertained with hayrides, a stick pony corral, pumpkin decorating, penny diving, lasso demonstrations, crafts and more. New this year is a barbecue cook-off featuring local restaurants, which attendees will get to sample for $1 each then vote on their favorite. Other food, such as roasted boiled peanuts, kettle corn and everyone’s favorite festival foods, will be available for purchase, along with cold beverages.

Mellow Mushroom in Mount Pleasant will hold its third annual day of craft beer tastings and music for charity. Benefitting the Carolina Youth Development Center, this event will feature more than 25 local and national craft breweries serving up more than 50 craft beers for unlimited tasting. Mellow Mushroom will supply the food while jam bands Schema and The System provide the musical entertainment.
