‘Top Gun’ ’80s Party
Break out the aviators and dog tags, it’s time again for the ’80s-themed “Top Gun” party, held on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier Yorktown. Attendees are asked to don their best “Top Gun” wear (think flight suits, bomber jackets and white T-shirts) as there will be a competition for best dressed. The event will feature a blend of different beer and spirits, food vendors and music by Super Deluxe, as well as a DJ. A special fashion show featuring retro flight deck crew bathing suits by Las Olas will be a highlight. Proceeds from the event, which is for ages 21 and over, will benefit Camp Happy Days, a nonprofit that helps kids with cancer and their families.

Firefly Moonshine Competition
Sponsored by Firefly Moonshine, local bartenders will serve up their best moonshine concoctions, which attendees will be able to sample and vote for their favorite. Benefiting Hospitality Heroes, a local charity that helps members in the service industry in times of need, this is the first time this event has been held.

Lowcountry Artist Market
Celebrating its 10th event, the Etsy.com-inspired Lowcountry Artist Market will host more than 150 vendors during this one-day event. Featuring a variety of local crafters and vendors, items available for perusal and purchase will include jewelry, vintage clothing, home and fashion accessories, artwork, candles, terrariums and more. The Hello, My Name is BBQ food truck will be set up on site to feed the masses, while King of Pops will be providing for those with a sweet tooth. The Music Farm will have their bar open so that folks cans sip while the shop. Also on site will be Pet Helpers, who will have puppies and kittens available for adoption.

Let the Good Times Roll
Brad and Jennifer Moranz, the couple that brings you the Charleston Christmas Special, present a new musical variety spectacular featuring a cast of 25 singers, dancers and musicians. Spanning a variety of music genres, including Broadway, pop, rock, country and Motown, this show will likely entertain all who attend. With Eddie Wilson, the former musical director for Tony Orlando, directing a live orchestra onstage, a group of performers with an impressive combined resume (one has sung with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and another was part of the world touring production of “Rent”) will have you tapping your toes and dancing in your seat.

Trident Technical College’s Main Street USA
Trident Technical College is celebrating the USA with refreshments and live entertainment. With a focus on the turn of the 20th century, the event will feature free ice cream sundaes, barbershop and Dixieland jazz music performed by the Sensible Shoes Quartet and the River City Dixieland Jazz Band, and more. This family-friendly event is open to the public.
