Weigh Station

You won’t find a harder working band than the local rock-blues-funk sextet Weigh Station.

Five years in, the band’s well-known affinity for live performances has yet to waver as the group backs up its reputation for being one of the tightest live acts in town time and time again.

The group’s 2011 EP “Past the Tracks” gives a snapshot of the band’s Southern, Allman Brothers-esque rock style coupled with a humble funk backbone and a blues man’s spirit, but it’s live where the band’s passion and talent is perhaps best understood.

Weigh Station will perform Wednesday at The Pour House, 1977 Maybank Highway.

Tickets are $8 at the door, which open at 9 p.m.
