Hard rock outfit Alice In Chains, touring behind their May 2013 album release, "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here," will be stopping in North Charleston on May 6.

Rising to fame in the early '90s along with other Seattle bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, Alice in Chains was one of the most successful bands of the decade, selling more than 25 million albums worldwide.

While never officially disbanding, the group took an extended leave of absence from performing from 1996 to 2005, when the group reunited with a new lead vocalist.

The new lineup has produced two albums, "Black Gives Way to Blue" and the May 2013 release "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here."

Alice in Chains will perform at 8 p.m. May 6 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center with special guest Monster Truck. Tickets are $39.50-$69.50 and go one sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets will be available at the North Charleston Coliseum Advance Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets (including select Publix stores), charge by phone 1-800-745-3000 or online at Ticketmaster.com.
