BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival
Now in its ninth year, the BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival continues to work with local restaurants and food purveyors to celebrate the area's culture and culinary scene. Attracting tens of thousands of attendees, almost half of whom travel from more than 50 miles away, Forbes recognizes the event as a Top 5 food and wine event in the nation. Offering a variety of opportunities to interact with and learn from some of the country's best chefs, authors and beverage professionals, the festival has more than 80 events scheduled over the four days, including demonstrations, classes, dinners and tastings.

Middleton Place Wine Stroll
Middleton Place is kicking off its spring season of weekly wine strolls starting next week. The National Historic Landmark is home to "America's oldest landscaped gardens" and is inviting guests to come experience the plantation in a different atmosphere. Attendees will be able to stroll through the grounds as they sip on wines from around the world chosen by Middleton Place Restaurant's sommelier.
When: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday

Get Your Roll On
Some of the area's top sushi chefs will be at it again in another round of Get Your Roll On, a competition benefiting the Woolfe Street Playhouse project. Chefs will come prepared to dazzle the crowd with their original sushi roll creations, which will be judged on creativity, taste and presentation. But don't worry, attendees will not leave on an empty stomach as the all-inclusive event will include tastings of the rolls and spirits to wash them down. DJ United will host the event.

Lowcountry Family Expo
If you're a family looking for something fun to do this weekend, consider heading out to the inaugural Lowcountry Family Expo, presented by The Post and Courier. Aiming to entertain, inform, inspire and engage children with fun, interactive activities, the expo will feature numerous activity stations. With an opportunity do arts and crafts, create a reusable flower pot to take home, and play in a laser tag obstacle course, Lego fun zones, a tennis center and more, everyone in the family is sure to be entertained. In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to meet Disney Channel star Sierra McCormick of "A.N.T. Farm," who will make an appearance from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Mindless Behavior, an American boy band, is best known for its singles "My Girl" and "Mrs. Right." The group, which mingles R&B grooves, pop hooks and hip-hop swag, is touring behind the sophomore release "All Around The World," which was also the name of the group's documentary film, both of which were release in March 2013. Having toured with the likes of the Backstreet Boys, Justin Bieber and Jason Derulo, and serving as the opening act for Janet Jackson's 2011 tour, these singers aim to perform in the tradition of The Jackson Five, New Edition and B2K, but stand on their own merit.
When: Saturday, doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.

Dancing with the ARK's Stars
Modeled after the popular television show "Dancing With the Stars," this local event benefits The ARK, which offers Alzheimer's family support services. In its fourth year, this fundraiser gala will feature seven local "celebrities" who will be performing with professional dancers from Carolina Dancesport to win one of two awards, the mirror-ball trophy and the People's Choice trophy. In addition to the dancing entertainment, the event also will feature refreshments, a silent auction and a few surprises, according to organizers.
