Pet Fest: Pets and their owners are invited to join Charleston County Park and Recreation for two days of exhibits, demonstrations, experts, entertainment and more at an event billed as "the Lowcountry's premier pet festival." Pet Fest will bring together local pet organizations and businesses in a pet-friendly environment where leashes are required. Highlights will include adoptable animals, Lowcountry Dog Magazine's cover model contest, a family dog show and various contests (best trick, owner look-alike, best dog costume and more). Children's activities, including jump castles, will also be available, and food, beverages and beer will be available for purchase.

Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars: The Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars is celebrating its 130th anniversary with a special show reprising legendary circus acts of the past along with the talents of cirque nouveau artists. The nearly two-hour extravaganza will feature Angels in the Air, the ThunderDrome, the Cole Bros. Clown Crew, elephants, acrobats, tigers, teeterboard artists and The Human Cannonball. This is a show that is sure to entertain all ages, so take a trip to the big top for the new commemorative performance.

Mardi Crawl: Celebrating its 10th year on Shem Creek, the Lowcountry Parrothead Club is again hosting its annual Mardi Crawl. "Crawlers" will travel in groups to each of the participating restaurants, spending about an hour enjoying food and drink specials, interactive games and live entertainment before moving to the next locale. Participating restaurants include Red's Ice House, Vickery's, Water's Edge, Shem Creek Bar & Grill, RB's and The Shelter. After hitting each spot, crawlers will make their way back to Red's for the official after-party. Proceeds benefit various Lowcountry charities, including the South Carolina Alzheimer's Association.

Bar Car Olympics: Do you have what it takes? This fourth annual "Bar Car Olympics" Pub Crawl will feature five competitions at five downtown bars, and don't worry, transportation is included. Teams of six (all age 21 and over) will compete for the gold in games such as beer pong, flip cup, the banana lime relay, the ring game and corn hole. Teams also will compete for best team name, best team costume and more. Tickets include two drinks at each bar, transportation and food at the medal ceremony.

Jason Isbell: Life has changed significantly for Jason Isbell since his days with the Drive-By Truckers. Since breaking out as a solo act, Isbell has released four studio albums, two live albums, married fiddle-player and songwriter Amanda Shires, oh, and he sobered up. Most of the publicity Isbell has received of late has focused on his new-found sobriety, and with reason. The singer-songwriter has spoken openly about his journey, and the songs on his much lauded album "Southeastern" largely centered on the author's newfound sobriety. Catch Isbell's raw, open and reflective style as he performs with Cory Branan.

Festival of Houses and Gardens: The Historic Charleston Foundation is hosting the 67th annual Festival of Houses and Gardens, a month-long peak behind the private garden gates and historic thresholds of some of the Holy City's homes. This series of award-winning tours showcases Charleston's distinctive architecture, history, gardens and culture. Tours are broken up by location and feature a number of stops in the various neighborhoods. In addition to the tours, the festival will be kicked off by the 11th annual Charleston Antiques Show (Friday-Sunday at Memminger Auditorium, 56 Beaufain St.), which will feature period furnishings, vintage jewelry, fine art and silver. Other special events that are part of the festival include oyster roasts; beer, wine and spirit tastings; luncheons; concerts; and more.

Baker Motor Company Charleston Fashion Week: Entering its eighth year, the Baker Motor Company Charleston Fashion Week has become a celebrated five-night fashion event credited with launching the careers of up-and-coming designers and models, and supporting local businesses and charities through its affiliations and events. This year's event will again feature early evening runway shows by local shops, the popular Emerging Designer Competition: East and established designers such as Brandon Sun and Timo Weiland. Before, between and after shows, guests can indulge in libations in the Style Lounge. On Saturday night, the top Emerging Designers selected each evening will face off for the title and grand prize. Saturday afternoon will feature the Spring Bridal Show, where attendees will have the chance to check out the latest in bridal fashions from some of the city's top bridal boutiques as well as from up-and-coming designers.
