This week, we're devoting our space to all things Easter. And this being the Holy City, it shouldn't surprise you that there are a number of events going on this weekend.

Easter Eggstravaganza

This family-friendly annual event brings all the things folks love about Easter to one place in a beautiful setting. Open at 9 a.m., events begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday on the grounds of Middleton Place.

Attendees can enjoy egg hunts, egg decorating, an Easter Bunny meet-and-greet, story time, crafts and more. There also will be Colonial games, an egg toss and more. A number of animals will be on-site.

There's no additional charge beyond general admission to the plantation, which is $28 for adults, $15 for students, $10 for kids ages 6-13, and free for children 5 and under.

Hunts will take place in age group divisions, with kids 2 and under starting at 10:30 a.m., ages 3-5 starting at 11 a.m., ages 6-7 starting at noon and ages 8-10 starting at 1 p.m.

Space is limited and attendees are asked to arrive 30 minutes before hunt time.

Hopps will be on-site from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. posing for pictures.

The hunt is free with admission ($15 for adults, $10 for kids 6-12, free for children under 6).

Gospel Fest

The 20th annual Gospel Fest put on by Project L.O.V.E. will be held on Easter Sunday from 3-8 p.m. at Riverfront Park in North Charleston.

The free event bills itself as the longest-running outdoor gospel music festival of its kind in the Southeast, with an expected attendance of more than 10,000.

This year's festival will feature a mixture of local and regional artists, including Jarrell Smalls, The Sam Dennis Singers, Bishop Brian D. Moore and the Life Center Cathedral, Extreme Praise and Nyki Smalls.

In addition to the variety of Lowcountry foods that will be available, organizers have added a new play area called Kids World. The fun zone will be packed with inflatable jump castles, colossal games and its own stage, which will feature the Amazing Kids with Talent Showcase for ages 5-17.
