RiverDogs 'Re-Opening Night'
After their April 7 home opener was rained out, the Charleston RiverDogs opted to have a second opening night called "Re-Opening Night." "We had so many exciting things planned for Opening Night that we don't want to discard them," said General Manager Dave Echols. Re-Opening Night will feature a pre-game parade that wraps around the outfield warning track that will highlight many staples of Charleston, including the College of Charleston cheerleaders, the North Charleston High School marching band, the South Carolina Stingrays' mascot Cool Ray, The Citadel Bulldogs' mascot Spike, the guys from the Holy City Beard & Moustache Society and more. Even Santa is expected to join in on the fun. As the parade concludes, the 2014 RiverDogs will be introduced as they enter the stadium on horse-drawn carriages. On hand to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" will be "American Idol" finalist Elise Testone.
When: 5:15 p.m. Tuesday
Where: Joe Riley Park, 360 Fishburne St.
