The Head and The Heart
Last in Charleston in October as part of the Southern Ground Music & Food Festival on Daniel Island hosted by Grammy Award-winning songwriter, singer/guitarist and band leader Zac Brown and his Georgia-based group the Zac Brown Band, The Head and The Heart will return this week to headline their own show in North Charleston. The Seattle-based folk-pop band is still relatively new to the scene, having released its second album, "Let's Be Still," last year, but its sound and style have already evolved and changed. While their new record has plenty of folky songs in the vein of their debut, it's also more eclectic, with cuts that add elements of rock, synth-pop and dance beats to the sound. The song "Another Story," in particular, has drawn attention to the group as it was written by the band shortly after the elementary school shooting in Sandy Hook, Conn. The show will feature special guest Valerie June.
When: Thursday, doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 8 p.m.
Where: North Charleston Performing Arts Center, 5001 Coliseum Drive
