Things always get a little quieter here when Spoleto Festival USA and Piccolo Spoleto come to a close.
While the end of the temporary influx may leave us feeling a little lost, there are still tons of amazing works and productions in galleries and theaters throughout town, so take this time to really be able to view things without the crowds.
Young Collectors' Show
Last week, Ann Long Fine Art launched this year's version of its annual Young Collectors' Show.
" 'The Young Collectors' Show is an opportunity for patrons of any age to acquire museum-quality paintings and drawings at a more accessible price. It is also an opportunity to introduce the gallery's accomplished artists to new collectors," explains media contact Susan Kridler, adding that all the works will be 20 percent off.
Some of the featured artists include Jill Hooper, Paula Rubino, Marc Dalessio, Louise Fenne, Megan Lightell and Kasey Sealy.
Stop by the gallery this month to see a variety of works, from still lifes to ethereal landscapes to impressionism paintings, all at Ann Long Fine Art, 54 Broad St.

'Bitter and Sweet'
Local artist and painter Honor Marks has had a remarkable year with her show at the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta last fall and the birth of her son in January. Needless to say, she's been a little busy.
This month, she is back to doing one of the things she loves best - creating and showing her work.
Join her for her show "Bitter and Sweet," where she "explores the complexities we face in life through the depictions of nature for which she is known. Sharp thorny branches bear luscious fruit; an intricate sculptural pod is an egg sac for a widow spider; a carnivorous plant produces a delicate blossom when it flowers," states a press release.
She is often inspired by botanical themes as well as natural history painters, and it's been said that she has an amazing ability to create translucent layers of oil paints that some have likened to Mark Rothko.
There will be a reception with light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Real Estate Studio, 214 King St.
Call the Real Estate Studio at 513-1601 or go to www.dunesproperties.com.
