Ten Thousand Gardens in Africa fundraiser
Slow Food Charleston and GrowFood Carolina are hosting a Gullah- and African-inspired food and music event as a way to raise funds to adopt a garden in Africa. Slow Food is a global, grassroots movement that links "the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment." The event will feature Gullah and African food by the Sould Food Foundation and chef BJ Dennis, African drumming and dancing by Woma Womalan, and a raffle for Gullah-themed prizes.
When: 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday
Where: GrowFood Carolina Warehouse, 990 Morrison Drive
Price: $10 in advance, $15 at the door (cash only); $30 for VIP
