First Day Festival
The 12th annual First Day Festival is all about getting families ready for the first day of school. Thousands of students and their families will descend on Liberty Square to receive school supplies, learn about student support services and healthy snacks, and enjoy entertainment. Families will be able to take tours of the South Carolina Aquarium and the Fort Sumter Museum, go on boat rides, get their face painted, play in a kid's zone and more, all at no cost to festival attendees. Folks will be able to catch performances of Japan Karate Institute, LowCo Suzuki Guitar and Flip! Gym, and meet team mascots Charlie T. RiverDog of the RiverDogs and Cool Ray of the Stingrays. School supplies and tickets for a boat ride will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
