South Carolina Reggae Jerk & Wine Festival
Magnolia Plantation and Gardens and the Healthy Lifestyle Network have teamed up to present the inaugural South Carolina Reggae Jerk & Wine Festival. Inviting attendees to "celebrate Jamaica Day in the Carolinas," the event will offer folks a taste of Caribbean food, Reggae wines, and Caribbean arts and crafts. Special guest Diana Ogilvie will discuss her film "The Jamaican Jerk Tour," with a showing starting at 1 p.m. The day will continue with a domino tournament and youth showcase at 2 p.m., a jerk cook-off starting at 3 p.m., a pepper eating contest at 4 p.m. and more. Music and entertainment will be provided throughout the day, including a performance by The Dubplates. Admission to the event includes a wine glass and wine tasting, as well as garden admission; designated driver admission includes garden admission. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Healthy Lifestyle Network, a nonprofit formed to teach self-management skills to adults and children "to change lifestyle and improvement health outcomes." Toys and stuffed animals will be collected at the event for children in Charleston and Jamaica.

Price: Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of; children under age 12 get in free; admission for those under 21 and for designated drivers is $12; parking is free
