Deluge

With a number of recent days involving temperatures in the 90s and the issuing of heat advisories, more than 300,000 gallons of water will offer some welcome relief this weekend. Deluge, an "epic water event," will stream the water from fire hoses, sprinkler systems, water slides, water balloons and guests armed for battle, but the event offers more than a thorough soaking. "Think water park meets music concert and you get the general idea." Local bands Dead 27's, South Street and The Royal Tinfoil will perform throughout the day, with headliner Kat Robichaud of NBC's "The Voice" taking the stage at 6:30 p.m. to premiere her new solo album. Water-based games will be available throughout the stadium; there will be dry zones, but attendees should expect to get wet. Organizers advise that you bag your cell phones or leave them behind. Oh, and don't forget your towel. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Windwood Farm and Family Services, a residential home for young male victims of abuse and neglect.

When: Sunday, gates open at 3 p.m.

Where: Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park, 360 Fishburne St.

Price: $15 in advance, $20 the day of the event
