I've seen a number of bands at the Sand Shack over the years, and the music tends to lean toward old school heavy metal and classic rock.
Local acts like 24/7, Rip and Tear and AC/DC tribute TNT are mainstays at the Sand Shack. The bar has always been a good venue to enjoy live music, in terms of sound quality and overall comfort.
As for the neighborhood part, the biker-friendly Sand Shack has always had a community feel, exemplified last month by the "60 Miles for Myles" charity event, which is a car and motorcycle run in memory of the late Myles Lee Dunn, who passed away after an accident in April. With the funds raised going toward funeral expenses and Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Sand Shack was a primary participant and the starting point for the event.
The Sand Shack has changed ownership over the years, but has always been a good spot for not only live music but billiards and occasionally outdoor games like volleyball and horseshoes. At the Sand Shack Bar & Grill, there's always plenty of fun to be had accompanied by a hardworking staff dedicated to making it happen.
