For the men: Shooting at ATP Gunshop and Range

It's no secret. Some guys dig firearms. They are powerful, they make big noises and they can kill things.

ATP Gunshop and Range, at 1340 College Park Road in Summerville, provides gun enthusiasts the opportunity to play with the big guns: machine guns, fully automatic weapons and weapons with silencers.

Arlyn Pendergast says that men who come to shoot at the range can most likely expect the following: "A great stress reliever, the opportunity to meet others interested in shooting and the added bonus of having an instructor on hand to help you with technique if needed."

Call ATP at 873-2250

For the women: Girls Night In with Passion Parties

Toy parties. These words may spark fantasies in both genders. But the reality is that women are able to shop for private, intimate items in the privacy of their own home, or in one of their friends' homes.

Women are free to laugh with their girlfriends, consume snacks and drinks, and do something that many chicks love to do, whether they admit it or not: talk about sex.

Nicole Flynt, a local representative for Passion Parties, says she helps to ease even the most shy party-goers.

"All parties start with few icebreaker games to help the guests loosen up and become more comfortable with the subject," she says.

Call Flynt at 803-727-0987.

For the lovebirds: Painting at Bottles 'n Brushes

Males and females need a way to unleash our creative side. So why not do it together?

Bottles 'n Brushes provides the place for people to gather, drink some cocktails and enjoy painting something they'll be proud to show off.

Heather Speizman says that people will have a blast, even if they're not naturally artistic, as the business was created for those with no artistic experience.

"The paintings are taught step-by-step by a local artist, so everyone leaves with a finished masterpiece regardless of artistic talent," she says.

Is this really the best way to spend a date with your significant other?

Speizman says it is.

"You can paint side by side, change your painting colors, and have a great night doing it together."

Bottles 'n Brushes is in the Peach Orchard Plaza in Mt. Pleasant. Call 345-7365.
